Kay and Burton is one of Australia’s top real estate agencies. So, when it wanted to create on online news update program, it needed titles that reflected the sleek, prestigious homes you would find listed on its pages.
Our only directive was to create something modern and elegant – we then had licence to take charge of the rest. We decided to go with glowing balls of light, travelling through the darkness of space (don’t worry, it looks better than we’re making it sound right now). As the piece progresses, we realise some of these balls of lights are shooting stars, animating a constellation in the background – while others are drawing the rigid outlines of letters.
Gradually, the shapes start to form. It’s a cinematic inspection of the Kay and Burton logo in 3D, set against the constellation which – by now – has formed a glowing, majestic globe of Earth. After this, the same motif is carried on, drawing the title of that particular episode, before the program commences.
We created titles and lower-thirds, compiling most of the elements in After Effects. We also used the Plexus plugin to incorporate some of the glowing texture. The backdrop of piano music helps enhance the overall sense of high-end elegance and prestige, which is core to the Kay and Burton premium brand.
