Adore Beauty made the wise decision to choose animation for its makeup tutorials. Not only did it allow them to clearly control the mechanics of what they are trying to demonstrate, it also gave them extra licence to create a unique look that’s in line with their brand identity.
This is a company that is really leading the way in the world of e-commerce, as it is Australia’s first cosmetics retailer to sell exclusively online. The store gives its customers access to over 165 cosmetics brands and more than 10 thousand beauty care products.
A product demonstration conveying editorial information is a great way to add value to the customer’s shopping experience, while also building goodwill.
For this product demonstration, the team at Jumbla was supplied with guide images. These were photos of live action models with the ideal make-up style superimposed over the top. Alongside this, we were given some collateral promotional material they had created in the past.
The style was very distinctive, the images looked almost like a watercolour painting – with lots of vivid (dare we say, passionate) brushstrokes. Our job was to combine the two in a manner that adhered to the brand’s voice.
So, to further enhance the effect, our animators emphasised some of the swift brushstrokes and incorporated bleed effects.
