Here's what's going down in animation and motion graphics this week.
In just over a week’s time, Jumbla Academy will host an intensive Cinema 4D course, where you can learn all about this awesome application in only 32 hours.
Students will have access to Jumbla Academy Professor Lahiru Karunaratne at all times, who will provide expert guidance and answer any C4D-related questions.
This is your opportunity to access the Cinema 4D Intensive Course before it’s rolled into the 15-week Jumbla Academy semester in January 2018.
You can now submit entries to the 2017 Motion Awards by Motionographer, which has introduced a number of changes for this year’s competition based on community feedback.
There are new categories including Sound Design for Animation, Music Composition for Animation, Experimental, Game Title Sequence, and Live Event Graphics.
“Motion design has matured into a complex, thriving community,” said Motionographer. “The Motion Awards are an attempt to shine a light on the people and work that comprise that community.”
Last week at the Adobe Creative Meet Up in London, Principal Manager of Creative Cloud Evangelism, Rufus Deuchler, talked in-depth about recent updates to the software giant’s leading applications.
Top of the agenda was Sensei, Adobe’s artificial intelligence and machine learning platform, which according to Duechler “represents the blending of art and science in our DNA.”
It was also revealed that Adobe XD is out of beta and AdobeLive is now steaming eight hours of creative learning content every day, Tuesday to Thursday.
LayerManager 4 has gone from a script to an After Effects extension and now comes with a new underlying engine, as well as drag and drop functionality.
“It helps to manage your layers on the timeline and viewport,” said creator Tony Pinkevych. “And it’ll save tons of your time while you work with layers.”
LayerManager 4 can also handle large compositions and calculate layers in seconds, yet doesn’t require special knowledge thanks to its intuitive interface.
ActionVFX has added a new collection of expositions to its library -Explosions Vol. 2, Aerial Explosions, and Dust Waves Vol. 2.
Explosions Vol. 2 features 25 real gas explosion elements, Aerial Explosions contains 10 CG elements of zero-gravity explosions in mid-air, while Dust Waves Vol. 2 has 40 clips of real dust wave elements.
Footage for the collections was shot over five weeks during the summer of 2017, most of which is available in 5k resolution.
